This site is authored using vi and UltraEdit. If you have to do any sort of text editing under Windows, get UltraEdit (or get Cygwin and run vi).

This site primarily uses text; as much as I love photographs and pretty pictures, I have come to grasp with the sad fact that I am not a graphic designer. (Which is not to say that I do not have a sense of asthetics.) I try to keep the pages in the main site XHTML and CSS compliant, although the frequently rolling web log may introduce non-compliant markup. This site should render correctly and usefully under text-mode web browsers such as Lynx and w3m.

This site is running on Apache, the world's most popular web server. I use the Python programming language for all my CGI scripts, and I use server-side includes all over the place.

This site uses Movable Type for the web log on the main page. For the photo albums, I use Gallery, a set of CGIs that manage, organize, and present photos online.
